St John’s with St. Andrew’s, Bromsgrove

St John’s and St Andrew’s congregations are inclusive, growing, prayerful, worshipping communities providing fellowship for one another, being a resource for the community, channelling and reflecting God’s love.

We seek to build God’s kingdom using a range of worship styles from the traditional civic services and Book of Common Prayer, to youth led services and informal all-age-worship; and through meeting the pastoral needs of the wider community. There are memorial services (6 annually), funeral services (about 100 a year), marriage preparation (20+ weddings booked for 2009), monthly baptism and/or thanksgiving services to welcome and encourage new families to the Church and services of prayers for Healing. A strong choir helps lead morning services and Choral Evensong, while the music group helps to lead less formal services, reflecting the breadth of our excellent musical tradition.

The ABC project in particular aims to bring the Good News to the people of the area of Charford served by St Andrew’s church. (left)

Our commitment to all ages is exemplified in our active Mothers’ Union, flourishing toddler group, thriving Sunday school, lively youth group, firm links to uniformed organisations (St Andrew’s) and regular visits and input to local schools.

After major refurbishment the fabric of both churches is in reasonably good order.
