NSM Associate Priest Margaret Woodgates

The wider ministry team

In addition to the three stipendiary clergy there is an extensive team of lay and ordained ministers active in the current parishes. These include:

· NSM Associate Priest (based at St. Godwald’s)

· Stipendiary Curate (based at St. John’s but expected to move on from Bromsgrove before July 2010). In future it would be expected to locate a training curate regularly within the wider parish as an excellent training context for ministry.

· Full time Church Army worker (working as part of the ABC Project from St. Andrew’s Church Charford.)

· Three licensed Readers.

· Teams of pastoral and communion visitors in several churches of the parish.

· A number of lay ministers currently undertaking training as part of the Diocesan Training Programme with a view to leading worship, pastoral visiting, evangelism, administration and children’s work.

· A number of retired clergy with Permission to Officiate.

There is a strong tradition of lay leadership across the churches of the team

There are part-time administrators based at St. John’s and Catshill and it is expected that the administrative support will be further developed and strengthened as the new parish is brought into being.

Finances of the Churches

Across the parishes of Bromsgrove finances are tight. Parish Share or Quota targets remain challenging, and in a few cases share has not been paid in full, despite stewardship schemes and campaigns. With the new parish it is planned that each church will continue to make its contribution to parish share or quota, retaining responsibility for its own assets and finances.
