Christenings

Christenings, during which your child is baptised, usually take place at a Sunday lunchtime though they can take place during the main Sunday service by arrangement.

Christening is about joining God's family, therefore we ask that you attend one of our churches at least three times so that you can connect with a local Christian community before we start the conversation about the date.  To avoid embarrassment please do not make catering or other arrangements before the date of your child's baptism is confirmed!

LeahSometimes, seeing someone else Christened, deciding to have your own child Christened or being asked to be a godparent, can make you reflect about your own journey of faith. Godparents must be baptised but can still be present at a Christening as sponsors. If you were not Christened as a baby or infant, you may be deciding now as an older child, teenager or adult to make this commitment. We would be happy to discuss an adult baptism with you and we run a number of courses over the year for those exploring faith. Whatever led you to this point, a Christening marks the beginning of a journey with God that continues for the rest of our lives.

To contact us about a Christening please come along to one of our church services or telephone our parish administrator, Lauren Jones, on 01527 577759. Lauren works variable days and hours but messages left will always be answered within a week.

Your family is always welcome at any of our services. For some of our more relaxed services that might be more suitable for parents with young children follow the links on the webpages.
